Rooftop Productions is a film production company with international clientele. It is run by two enthusiastic owners with an energy which defined the tone for the project moving forward. They approached Strukt with the idea of purchasing an unused church in a prominent commercial strip in Gqebera. With a lot of persistence, the clients obtained the property, changed the zoning and the project was a go-ahead. We were asked to design and build the new offices for Rooftop Productions.

We tried to capture the friendly, fun nature of the company in the spaces that we created, whilst maintaining an element of a formal, functional office environment. In addition to the formal office spaces, meeting rooms and production studios required; we chose to incorporate a centralised social space and communal kitchen area where staff can take a break from their desk environment and mingle with fellow colleagues.
